SFA Gardens offers a variety of educational and entertaining events for adults throughout the year, from seed swaps to holiday craft projects to lectures from expert horticulturists. Check out a few of our most popular offerings below.

“Texas-tough” plant sales

Looking to add some true East Texas flair to your yard or garden? The Fabulous Fall Festival Plant Sale takes place in October, and our Garden Gala Day Plant Sale is held in March. Proceeds from the sale help support educational programs offered by SFA gardens.

Garden seminars

Join fellow garden enthusiasts for a year-round calendar of fun and educational seminars. Topics include everything from decorating with succulents to photographing flowers to successful plant propagation.

The Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series

This series features plant- and garden-focused presentations by landscaping professionals, university professors and horticulture specialists from around the state and the country. Lectures are held once a month and are free and open to the public. Every lecture is followed by an exciting rare-plant raffle.
