Getting involved
Joining a club, organization or honor society is a great way to make friends, get to know your professors and become a more successful student. SFA is home to more than 200 student clubs and organizations, including clubs for students interested in agriculture.

College Experience Day
Experience a day in the life of an SFA agriculture student in this annual event for high school students. Tour the campus, meet students and faculty and participate in fun, hands-on activities.

College of Forestry and Agriculture Fall Convocation
Join faculty, staff and your fellow Lumberjacks for hamburgers, hot dogs, door prizes and fun! The college-wide cookout is a fun way to welcome SFA’s new agriculture, environmental science, forestry and spatial science students and learn how you can become engaged as a student in your chosen profession.

East Texas Forest Entomology Conference
The East Texas Forest Entomology Conference is set for Thursday, April 18, 2024 at Kurth Lake in Lufkin, Texas from noon to 9 p.m.; and Friday, April 19, from 8 a.m. to noon at Forestry 117, Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture, Stephen F. Austin State University. The registration cost is $90 for professionals and $40 for students or retirees. These fees include the program and meals for the conference.
Organizers for the conference include Robert Coulson, Department of Entomology, Texas A&M University; Dr. John Riggins, Department of Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Entomology and Plant Pathology, Mississippi State University; and Dr. David Kulhavy, Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture, Stephen F. Austin State University. Also assisting is Allen Smith, Texas A&M Forest Service, Longview, Texas; and host Rob Hughes, Texas Forestry Association, Lufkin, Texas.
Homecoming
The College of Forestry and Agriculture welcomes back our alumni during SFA's Homecoming Weekend. Events include a tailgate cookout before the homecoming game, plus food, fun, games and fellowship on the back lawn and deck of the Forestry Building. Student organizations are involved and set up displays and tables for the event.
