Exciting research projects

The Arthur Temple College of Forestry and Agriculture places a great deal of emphasis on hands-on, transformative learning experiences. As a student at SFA, you’ll have the opportunity to work with faculty members on a variety of research projects.

Some of our recent research projects include:

  • uncovering the mysteries of one of Texas’ oldest trails using LiDAR technology
  • using state-of-the-art drones to inventory the trees of Stephen F. Austin Experimental Forest
  • studying the effects and cost savings of energy-efficient lighting on poultry production
  • studying soil and air quality near Moody Gardens’ rainforest pyramid
  • and collecting data in Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Park.
