On 9-23-2024, A UTS-SFA officer was dispatched to the University Police Department to meet with a complainant in reference to an assault. The complainant stated that on 9-3-2024 she was assaulted by a known suspect at the Steen Library. This incident is still under investigation. Both the complainant and suspect are SFA students.
Friday, Sept. 20, 2024 – Monday, Sept. 23, 2024
On 9-20-2024, a UTS-SFA officer was dispatched to Lumberjack Landing in reference to a burglary of a habitation. The complainant stated that on 9-14-2024 someone entered into his residence and removed property without his consent. There are no suspects.
On 9-22-2024, a UTS-SFA officer observed a damaged stop sign in lot 44. Security camera footage showed that on 9-21-2024, a vehicle damaged the stop sign while it was attempting to park. After the vehicle parks the driver leaves the scene. There is one suspect.

On 9-17-2024, a UTS-SFA officer was dispatched to Lumberjack Landing in reference to a burglary of a habitation. The complainant stated they believed that between 9-15-2024 and 9-16-2024, unknown persons entered into their residence and removed property with the consent of the owner. There are no suspects. The complainant is a SFA student.
On 9-17-2024, a UTS-SFA officer was dispatched to the Student Recreation Center in reference to a criminal trespass. The complainant stated on 9-16-2024, three unknown suspects entered into the recreation center through a back door without consent. Officers believe the three suspects are not SFA students.
On 9-17-2024, a UTS-SFA officer contacted a suspicious vehicle that was occupied by two subjects in Lot 56. As the officer was speaking with the driver he noticed what he believed to be drug paraphernalia in the driver’s side floor board. The driver admitted to the officer that there was also marihuana on the floor board. The officer conducted a probable cause search of the vehicle and no other contraband was found. The driver was issued a class B summons for possession of marihuana. The driver is an SFA student.
Monday, Sept. 16, 2024 – Tuesday, Sept. 17, 2024
On 9-17-2024, UTS-SFA officers were dispatched to Hall 20 in reference to a suspicious person by the bike racks. Officers arrived and found the suspect with a bicycle. As officers approached the suspect the suspect fled on the bicycle. The suspect was later located by Nacogdoches police officers on Pearl Street off campus. UTS-SFA officers went to that location and identified the suspect as the one who fled earlier. The suspect was arrested and during the pat-down search officers located drug paraphernalia in the suspects pocket. The suspect was charged with evading arrest and possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect was then transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail without incident. The suspect is not an SFA student.

On 9-10-2024, UTS-SFA officers were dispatched to a residence in Steen Hall in reference to an alcohol complaint. Officers went to the residence and contacted the occupant who voluntarily let the officers enter. In plain view the officers could see bottles of liquor. The occupant was under twenty-one years of age and was issued a citation for minor in possession of alcohol. The occupant of the residence is an SFA student.

On 9-5-2024, a UTS-SFA officer observed a vehicle being driven in a reckless manner in the 1000 block of North Street. The officer stopped the vehicle and contacted the driver. The driver smelled of an alcoholic beverage and showed signs of intoxication. The driver performed poorly during the field sobriety test and was arrested for driving while intoxicated. The driver was then transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail without incident. The driver was not an SFA student.
Wednesday, Sept. 4, 2024 – Thursday, Sept. 5, 2024
On 9-3-2024, UTS-SFA officers were dispatched to Steen Hall in reference to a sexual assault. The complainant stated that on 9-1-2024 she was sexually assaulted by a known subject at Steen Hall. The complainant refused to pursue with criminal charges. Both the complainant and suspect are SFA students. There is one suspect.
On 9-4-2024, a UTS-SFA officer contacted a complainant in the lobby of UPD in reference to assault. The complainant advised on 9-3-2024, she was assaulted by an unknown person between the Music building and Griffith Hall. Upon further investigation, it was determined that the assault did not occur and the complainant made a false report. The complainant is an SFA student.
On 9-4-2024, UTS-SFA officers were dispatched to Lot 46 in reference to a drug complaint. Officers met with the complainant, who was an off-duty deputy sheriff, who stated he was running when he passed a subject who smelled strongly of marihuana. The off-duty deputy detained the suspect until UTS-SFA officers arrived. The suspect was found to be in possession of marihuana. The suspect was arrested for possession of marihuana and transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail. The suspect was not an SFA student.

On 9-4-2024, UTS-SFA officers contacted a suspicious vehicle at Pecan Acres Park. As officers approached they could smell a strong odor of marihuana coming from the vehicle. Contact was made with the occupant who admitted to smoking marihuana in the vehicle earlier. A probable search was conducted and officers located marihuana inside the vehicle. The occupant was issued a class b summons for possession of marihuana. The occupant/suspect is an SFA student.

On 8-31-2024, UTS-SFA officers responded to the Sports Medicine building located next to Homer Bryce Stadium in reference to criminal mischief. The complainant advised around 8-31-2024 someone had spray painted a door on the Sports Medicine building. There are no suspects.
On 8-31-2024, a UTS-SFA officer responded to the police department to speak with a complainant in reference to fraud. The complainant stated that several unauthorized charges were taken from their banking account. There are no suspects.

On 8-24-2024, UTS-SFA officers were dispatched to Lumberjack Village in reference to a drug complaint. The complainant advised they could smell the odor of marihuana coming from a residence. Officers contacted one suspect inside the residence and located drug paraphernalia. The suspect was issued a citation for possession of drug paraphernalia. The suspect is an SFA student.
On 8-24-2024, a UTS-SFA officer contacted a subject who appeared to be having trouble entering a building. The subject thought they were at their residence but were actually attempting to enter the old purchasing building on campus. The subject was found to be intoxicated. The subject was arrested and transported to the Nacogdoches County Jail for public intoxication. The subject is an SFA student.
On 8-25-2024, UTS-SFA officers responded to Lumberjack Lodge in reference to the smell of burnt marihuana coming from a residence. Officers contacted the occupant of the residence who admitted to smoking marihuana. A search was conducted of the residence where officers located marihuana. The suspect was issued a class-b summons for possession of marihuana. The suspect is an SFA student.

On 8-3-2024, an officer was dispatched to the Mize Azalea Gardens parking lot to meet with two complainants in reference to burglary of a motor vehicle. The officer learned that two vehicles had their windows broke out where entry was made inside the vehicle. Items were then removed from inside the vehicle without the owner’s consent. There are no suspects. One of the complainants is a student.
