Annual Campus Crime Statistics

Each month all campus crime statistics are submitted to the Crime Records Division of the Uniform Crime Reporting Bureau, which uses the FBI's Uniform Crime Reporting Handbook as its guide. All crimes and arrests described in the Campus Security Act of 1990 are incorporated into this annual report.

The prompt reporting of campus crimes is encouraged through the student handbook, emergency telephone numbers in all campus buildings, officer briefings of residence hall supervisors and resident assistants, and daily contact by the officers with the campus population.

Not only is crime reporting encouraged, but incidents which may affect security at a future date are recorded. Reports of crimes in other jurisdictions are furnished immediately to those authorities and, in turn, local and county authorities immediately advise The University of Texas System Police Department at SFA of problems on campus.

Annual Fire and Safety Report

The safety and well-being of our students, faculty, staff and visitors is our priority. With the support of university departments, we have hundreds of people involved in keeping this campus safe and secure. However, a truly safe campus can only be achieved through the cooperation from students, faculty and staff. The annual fire and safety report is a part of our effort to ensure that this collaborative endeavor is effective. Read it carefully and use the information to help foster a safe environment for yourself and others on campus.
