SFA is proud of the visibility of our high-performing athletic bands throughout the state of Texas and the rest of the country.

The Roarin' Buzzsaws pep band is an engaging, high-energy ensemble that performs at all home games for the Men's and Women's Basketball teams as well as select home Women's Volleyball games. The band’s 50 auditioned members split the season's 20+ games and members are paid for the games at which they play.

In addition to performances during the regular season, the pep band performs at the annual WAC Conference Basketball Tournament in Las Vegas, Nevada and, when the teams qualify, supports their peers on the court at arenas across the country in the NCAA Tournament.

Post-season travel, a highlight experience for most members, is covered free of charge for all ensemble members.

Auditions for the Roarin' Buzzsaws occur early in the fall semester and are open to all SFA students, regardless of major.
