Two violinists, one violist and one cellist
The Elliott String Quartet is a graduate fellowship open to students who are interested in pursuing the Master of Music in performance or the graduate-level performing artist certificate.
As a member of this quartet, you'll be offered a residency of up to two years with major lessons, performance opportunities and coaching sessions with guest artists.
Opportunities to perform and dedicated funding
The Elliott String Quartet maintains an exciting performance schedule, including two on-campus recitals each academic year. Special funding also is available for coaching sessions, touring and travel to participate in chamber music competitions.
As a quartet, you'll participate in the SFA Symphony Orchestra, facilitate weekly orchestra sectionals and perform as a lab ensemble for graduate conducting students.
Financial assistance for fellowship members
Active members are offered up to $20,000 in financial assistance for tuition and expenses each academic year.
Eligibility to apply
To be eligible for consideration into the fellowship, you must:
- already hold a degree in music
- or have an expected completion of a music degree before the start of the academic year in which you plan to join
- be fluent in English
- be experienced in disciplined and sustained practice
- collaborate maturely and generously in a chamber ensemble
- and demonstrate a commitment to artistic excellence.
