NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Ashlee Brewster, a 2013 Stephen F. Austin State University graduate, was named the 2016-17 Teacher of the Year for Mountainview Elementary School in Waco.

SFA to host guest flute, harpsichord recital

Cruz visits with SFA administrators and supporters

SFA marketing students prepare for national competition


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin State University students enrolled in an advertising and promotion course in the Rusche College of Business are embarking on a challenge to help counter violent extremism as part of a national competition.

In Edventure's Peer to Peer: Challenging Extremism competition, students must create and activate their own social media campaigns to challenge violent extremist ideology, propaganda and recruitment by creating positive, alternative or counter narratives, according to the competition's guidelines.

SFA announces recipients of 2017 Research and Creative Activity grants


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin State University's Office of Research and Sponsored Programs has announced the recipients of its annual Research and Creative Activity grants. The RCA grant program was created to help support the initial research efforts of SFA faculty members and help prepare them and their research for submission to national grant programs.

SFA to present student-directed play 'Picnic on the Battlefield'


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre will present the student-directed, one-act play "Picnic on the Battlefield" by Fernando Arrabal with English translation by Barbara Wright at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 17, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 18, in the Downstage Theatre on the SFA campus.
