NACOGDOCHES, Texas - This spring Stephen F. Austin State University's Rusche College of Business implemented a mentorship program to provide students with an additional resource outside of an academic setting.
This program matches members of the Rusche College of Business Executive Advisory Board with an SFA student based on the student's goals, the mentor's industry specialty and location, and personalities. Mentors advise and guide students as they advance in college and help students launch their careers.
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The National Endowment for the Humanities has once again recognized an NEH grant awarded to Kyle Ainsworth, special collections librarian at Stephen F. Austin State University's Steen Library, by including it in NEH's 50 States of Preservation series.
The series highlights former preservation assistance grants for smaller institutions awarded to libraries and archives across the United States.

C2C, a professional development event, will feature sessions throughout the day with speakers from across the state representing companies such as Kohls, Wells Fargo, Wintrust Commercial Finance, Pilgrim's Pride, Austin Bank and more.

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - For the first time, Stephen F. Austin State University graduate students enrolled in the School of Human Sciences' dietetic internship program will have the opportunity to study abroad in Guatemala with Refuge International, an organization providing health care to remote areas of the world.
SFA has recorded a spring 2017 enrollment of 11,639, an increase from this past spring of almost 1 percent. Enrollment in Spring 2016 was 11,545.
"While we are always happy to see an increase, we are particularly glad to see that new student enrollment has increased at both the undergraduate and graduate level," said Monique Cossich, executive director of enrollment management. "New undergraduate enrollment - including first-year and transfer students - is up 3.2 percent, and new graduate student enrollment is up 3 percent."
NACOGDOCHES, Texas - The Orchestra of the Pines at Stephen F. Austin State University will present the program "With a Stroke of a Pen" at 7:30 p.m. Monday, March 6, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus.
The concert, which will feature the world premiere of "Fantasy: Beyond the Forest" by SFA music composition student Kyle Henkel of Argyle, includes a program of music in which each piece tells a story of suspect and mystery, according to Gene H. Moon, director of orchestras at SFA. Henkel is the winner of this year's composition competition in the SFA School of Music.
