SFA to open exhibition of works by East Texas artist Bill Haveron


Bill Haveron's graphite on paper "Decertification Pending" is included in "Bill Haveron: Pre-Existing Condition," which will open at Stephen F. Austin State University's The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 9, and run through Saturday, July 7.

SFA to open exhibition of priest's photographs


This photograph of a father digging a grave for his daughter in Mogadishu, Somalia, in 1992 earned photographer Howard Castleberry a Pulitzer Prize nomination. It is included in "Two Cities: A Path to Faith (1983-1992)," which will open at 6 p.m. Saturday, June 2, at The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House in downtown Nacogdoches. Castleberry, now an Episcopal priest, is the rector at Christ Episcopal Church in Nacogdoches.

Nacogdoches Art League to open juried show


Dennis Ford's turned wood piece, "White Hershey Kiss," won Best in Show in the 2011 Nacogdoches Art League's "41st Annual Juried Gallery Show." The league's 2012 show will open at 5 p.m. Friday, June 8, at The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House in downtown Nacogdoches.
