Maybe you want to be healthier, but are unsure of the ways in which to pursue that goal. Wellness coaching can focus on any of SFA's Seven Dimensions of Wellness and our coaches are trained in several tools and tactics to guide you in determining meaningful goals. While the coach is there to support and guide you, these goals are chosen by you based on what you want to achieve.
Who we are
It's important to note that wellness coaches are not therapists or psychologists, and we don't assess or diagnose health conditions. Our wellness coaches are undergraduate and graduate students who have participated in appropriate training. They consider you the expert in your own well-being and life.
If your needs are outside of their scope of practice, they can refer you to other on-campus allied professionals. These referrals may include:
- Counseling Services: licensed professional counselors
- Dining Services: registered dietitian
- and Campus Recreation: certified personal trainers.
Session information
Free in-person and virtual sessions are available to meet your need and there isn't a limit to the number of sessions you may schedule.

You'll have the option to schedule 30-minute follow-up sessions. These additional sessions serve as an opportunity to discuss your progress with your coach and are scheduled every two to four weeks, based on your goals and schedule.
Your coach will check in via email between sessions to assist with maintaining goals.
