BASICS is designed to assist you in examining your drinking behavior in a confidential environment that is confrontation- and judgment-free. This is not an abstinence-only program; goals are aimed at reducing risky behaviors and potential harmful consequences.
Who should enroll?
We encourage you to enroll if
- you're noticing alcohol may be affecting your well-being or academics
- you want to learn more about how to stay safe while drinking alcohol
- you're reflecting on past experience involving substances
- or you're thinking about changing your use.
Program details
The BASICS program consists of two 60-minute sessions with personalized feedback.
Session One: Small group
Your group will meet with a facilitator who will provide an overview of the BASICS program. You'll set expectations, engage in two interactive group activities and complete a personal assessment.
Session Two: One-on-one
You and your facilitator will meet one-on-one to review your assessment and discuss strategies to reduce current and future risks associated with alcohol use. Resources will be provided for continued support.
