Waiver applies to nonresident tuition, reducing the amount to Texas resident tuition rates.

Eligibility
Eligible nonresident or foreign students, including citizens, U.S. permanent resident, someone who is eligible to be a U.S. permanent resident and an eligible non-immigrant are those who meet one of the following:
- have family that has been transferred to Texas by a company established as part of the state's Economic Development and Diversification Program
- not earlier than five years before the relevant enrollment date
- and their spouse and children shall pay resident tuition as soon as they move to Texas. The student must provide SFA with a letter of intent to establish Texas as their home.
- moves to Texas to attend SFA before their family is transferred.
- In this case, the student is permitted to pay the resident tuition beginning with the first term after the family moves to Texas.
- have maintained a residence in Texas for 12 months with their family.
- In this case, the student may request a change in classification in order to pay resident tuition.
