Outside Scholarships

An outside scholarship is a scholarship awarded by an individual(s) or organization (e.g., church, school, civic club) to an SFA student.

Instructions for sending check to be applied on the student's account:

First and foremost: Place the student's name and SFA ID number on the check to ensure proper credit. If you don't know their SFA ID number, include their date of birth.

If the check is payable jointly to the student and SFA:

The student must endorse the check and before hand-delivering or mailing it to Student Business Services.

If the check is payable to SFA only:

Hand-deliver or mail the check to Student Business Services.

SFA does not mail receipts for outside scholarship checks. Instead, the canceled check will serve as the receipt for the individual or organization who wrote the check. The student may view the outside scholarship posted on their eBill.
