Exemptions

Exemption applies to tuition and mandatory fees.

Eligibility

Eligible students are those who were:

  • in foster or other residential care
  • adopted
  • and the subject of an adoption assistance agreement under Subchapter D, Chapter 162, Texas Family Code.

How to apply

Upload the certification from Texas Department of Family and Protective Services using the directions below. When prompted, select "Foster Care and Adoption Waiver."

  1. Using your mySFA credentials to log in, visit the document upload page.
  2. Select the appropriate option from the drop-down menu.
  3. Upload the documentation.
