Exemption applies to tuition and laboratory fees.
Eligibility
Eligible students are those who:
- apply for the exemption at least one week before the last date of SFA's regular registration period for the applicable term
- are employed as a peach officer by the state of Texas or by a political subdivision of Texas
- are enrolled in an undergraduate program, including certificate, associate or bachelor's degrees leading to a law enforcement-related or criminal justice certificate or degree
- enroll in classes for which SFA receives tax support (for example, a course that doesn't depend solely on student tuition and fees to cover its costs)
- make satisfactory academic progress toward your degree as determined by SFA
- and have not previously attempted semester credit hours for the same courses from another Texas higher education public institution while classified as a resident student for tuition purposes in excess of the maximum number specified in Texas Education Code 61.0595 (a).

Continuation requirements
If on the completion of any semester or term you fail to meet the GPA requirements described in SFA's policy regarding eligibility for financial aid or have reached the excessive hour rule limits, you may not receive the exemption for the next semester or term in which you enroll.
