2023 Nac Short Film Festival set for April 15 on SFA campus


NACOGDOCHES, Texas — The 2023 Nac Short Film Festival, featuring the work of current and former Stephen F. Austin State University film students, is scheduled for 7 to 10 p.m. April 15 in the Baker Pattillo Student Center Theater on the SFA campus. 

The festival focuses on independent filmmakers who create films in East Texas. During the event, attendees will vote for the Audience Choice Award, which comes with a $100 prize for the winner.  

SFA Counseling Services reorganizes staff, offers targeted care

SFA Percussion Ensemble to premiere work of freshman music student


NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin State University Percussion Ensemble will present world premieres of two works, including one composed by a freshman SFA percussion student, written specifically for SFA percussionists when the ensemble performs at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 14, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus.
 

SFA Wind Ensemble to present ‘Rhapsody in Blue’


NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Wind Ensemble at Stephen F. Austin State University will perform its final concert of the 2022-23 school year in presenting the program “Rhapsody in Blue” at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 11, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus.

SFA announces 2023 Teaching Excellence Award recipients


NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Seven Stephen F. Austin State University faculty members recently were selected to receive Teaching Excellence Awards.

SFA’s Teaching Excellence program is an opportunity to recognize outstanding faculty members for their contributions to the university through excellence as teachers. Each of the university’s six colleges selects a member of its faculty to receive an award. One SFA Faculty Senate member from among all colleges also is chosen.
