Pierce’s ‘Oil Can Tremolo’ solo exhibition featured in touring show “Persona’


NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The School of Art at Stephen F. Austin State University and The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House will present “Oil Can Tremolo,” a solo exhibition by Kris Pierce showing Feb. 7 through March 24 at Cole Art Center. The exhibition opens with a reception for the artist from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7.
 

SFA Economics Reading Group to host discussion with ‘An Economist Goes to the Game’ author


NACOGDOCHES, Texas — The student-led Economics Reading Group in Stephen F. Austin State University’s Rusche College of Business is hosting a speaker event with Paul Oyer, author of “An Economist Goes to the Game: How to Throw Away $580 Million and Other Surprising Insights From the Economics of Sports,” at 5:30 p.m. Feb. 21 in the McGee Business Building, Room 133. Oyer will be joining the event via Zoom.

Budd’s solo exhibition ‘Dead Souls’ featured in touring ‘Persona’ show

Work by Swedish artist Rasimus featured in ‘Persona’ exhibition

SFA to present student-directed ‘All of You’


NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre and Dance will present the student-directed one-act play “All of You" by Dylan Schifrin at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Feb. 10, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11, in Regents Suite A in the Baker Pattillo Student Center on the SFA campus.
 

SFA Repertory Dance Company to present ‘Ex/Posed Em/Power’


NACOGDOCHES, Texas – New choreographic works created by the Stephen F. Austin State University dance faculty and guest artists Torens Johnson and Amy Wright will be featured in the program “Ex/Posed Em/Power” presented Feb. 16 through 18 in the Norton HPE Complex on the SFA campus.
 

SFA School of Art to host ‘Persona’: Exhibition features works by artists Budd, Pierce, Rasimus

SFA Gardens to host grafting seminar


NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Dr. David Creech, Stephen F. Austin State University professor emeritus of agriculture and director of SFA Gardens, will discuss plant grafting techniques during a workshop from 9 a.m. to noon March 11 at the Brundrett Conservation Education Building, located at 2900 Raguet St.   

SFA’s Symphonic Band, Wind Symphony to perform


NACOGDOCHES, Texas – The Symphonic Band and the Wind Symphony at Stephen F. Austin State University will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, Feb. 7, in the Grand Ballroom of the Baker Pattillo Student Center located on the SFA campus.
 

Houston poet laureate emeritus Deborah D.E.E.P. Mouton to give SFA Diversity Conference keynote


NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Self-described poet, activist and educator Deborah D.E.E.P. Mouton will serve as the keynote speaker for Stephen F. Austin State University’s ninth annual Diversity Conference, scheduled for 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 10 in the Baker Pattillo Student Center.
