First things first

If you haven’t done so already, you’ll need to complete the checklist for becoming a Lumberjack.

Getting ready for your first semester

Register for placement test

The Texas Success Initiative is a program mandated by Texas law and its requirements apply to all students in Texas public colleges and universities. Learn more about how to register and to determine if you are exempt.

Get advised and register for classes

You can register for classes through mySFA once you have been advised. Locate your academic advisor to schedule a meeting.

Registering prior to attending Orientation is highly encouraged.

Register for an Orientation session

Orientation attendance is required for incoming first-year and is recommended for transfer students.

During orientation, you'll have the chance to get to know the campus, ask questions and learn more about academic programs and areas of study. You'll also have the opportunity to meet with academic advisors and faculty members.
