NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The SFA Wind Ensemble will present "Contempo," a concert of contemporary band music, at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 20, in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the SFA campus.
"Most of the pieces on the program were written within the last 10 years, and all were considered 'new' during their time," said Fred J. Allen, SFA director of bands and conductor of the Wind Ensemble. "We're even including a new edition of a John Philip Sousa march."
Dr. Charles Gavin, SFA professor of horn, will be the guest artist and featured soloist on Lee Actor's "Horn Concerto" during the SFA Orchestra of the Pines' concert at 730 p.m. Saturday, April 24, in Cole Concert Hall.NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Two recent photographs by Stephen F. Austin State University photographer Hardy Meredith received awards at the Council for Advancement and Support of Education's recent District IV conference in Austin.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS -The Trombone Choir at Stephen F. Austin State University will present a wide array of music during its spring concert at 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 12, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus.
The 20-member choir will perform works spanning almost 400 years, some of which were originally written for a trombone ensemble and some that have been transcribed or arranged for the instrument, explained Deb Scott, SFA assistant professor of trombone and the group's director.
