NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - "Street Scene," Kurt Weill's American opera based on Elmer Rice's Pulitzer Prize-winning play, will open at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 4, for a three-night run in W.M. Turner Auditorium on the campus of Stephen F. Austin State University.

NACOGDOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University School of Theatre will present a student-directed production of "Adam and the Experts" at 7:30 p.m. Friday, April 12, and at 2 and 7:30 p.m. Saturday, April 13, in the Downstage Theatre in the Griffith Fine Arts Building on the SFA campus.

Commerce senior Benn May, who is a performance major with an emphasis in directing, will direct the play by Victor Bumbalo.

May described "Adam and the Experts" as "a play about how a person handles the loss of his best friend to AIDS in the peak of the scare."

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Former Nacogdoches mayor and Nacogdoches Economic Development Corporation president Judy McDonald will interview former U.S. Sen. Kay Bailey Hutchison during the 2013 installment of the Archie McDonald Speaker Series at Stephen F. Austin State University.

The event is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. Thursday, April 11, in the Baker Pattillo Student Center Grand Ballroom on the SFA campus.

From his home studio in Round Rock, Texas, 2002 SFA graduate Todd Slater designs stunning silkscreen concert posters for some of the biggest names in the music industry.

Slater's modern works of art have represented a who's who of rock 'n' roll, from legendary songwriters Bob Dylan and Neil Young to alt rockers Edward Sharpe and the Magnetics Zeros. Through the use of silkscreen printing, vivid colors in each of his pieces come to life, while metallic inks and holographic papers provide textural depth.

Acclaimed artist Patrick Graham's "Wreath: Collateral Series" will be among the work displayed in "Patrick Graham - Thirty Years: The Silence Becomes the Painting," which opens along with Texas National 2013 at 6 p.m. Saturday, April 13, in Cole Art Center in downtown Nacogdoches.

SFA's Stone Fort Wind Quintet, featuring Christopher Ayer, Charles Gavin, Christina Guenther-Scott, John W. Goodall and Jeremy Fain, will perform at 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, April 9, in Cole Concert Hall on the SFA campus.
