SFA Gardens Lecture Series to feature South Carolina horticulturist

Austin State University will host the monthly Theresa and Les Reeves Lecture Series at 7 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 14, in the Ina Brundrett Conservation Education Building at the Pineywoods Native Plant Center, 2900 Raguet St. in Nacogdoches. Ethan Kauffmann will present "Green Roofs, Green Walls, the South Carolina Way."

NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Stephen F. Austin State University President Baker Pattillo surprised Steve McCarty, retired athletic director and current chair of the Board of Regents, at the board's Tuesday meeting by awarding him a new title: athletic director emeritus.

Regents approve extension of SFA marketing campaign as part of $238.6 million budget


NACOGDOCHES, Texas - Due to the success of Stephen F. Austin State University's recent marketing campaign, the Board of Regents approved extending the project through the next fiscal year, allocating $1.6 million for a two-phase plan that will include more of the popular "Lumberjacks Make Great" billboards and other advertising.

The 30th Watercolor East Texas juried exhibition will open with a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, July 26, in The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House in downtown Nacogdoches. This year's juror is Michael Holter, a nationally known artist from Plano who works in watercolor figurative and oil landscapes.
