Radio students on the air

Our entire on-air staff is comprised of SFA students enrolled in the Audio Production (MCOM 2303) and Capstone class (MCOM 4320).These classes offer students a chance to learn valuable information about radio and gain experience working in a professional environment. KAXM-FM offers students a hands-on training facility and gives them the opportunity to work as on-air disc-jockeys, news reporters, sports reporters, production and promotion assistants, talent for various remotes throughout each semester, and much more.

Our non-commercial station broadcasts at 4800-watts and plays alternative rock 7-days a week, 24 hours a day. Outside of music, we bring the SFA community weather forecasts every hour on the half hour, sports updates, news reports and various live events/remotes throughout the school year. You will also hear Public Service Announcements played throughout the day from different organizations in and around the Nacogdoches area.
