Helping East Texans with disabilities re-enter the job market

As a state-recognized Community Rehabilitation Program, the SFA Rehabilitation Services Career Planning Laboratory provides employment-related services to persons with disabilities.

The lab also serves as a teaching facility for both undergraduate and graduate rehabilitation students to learn the skills needed to help clients with career planning. Under the supervision of our faculty, students practice:

  • vocational interviewing skills
  • test administration
  • and vocational evaluation report writing.

Students learn to become caring professionals who translate classroom knowledge into real services. The students help East Texans with disabilities get back into the labor market, working at jobs they enjoy.

The facility is equipped with electronic vocational testing as well as aptitude, interest and work personality assessment tools. Students also participate in the lab’s ongoing self-efficacy research.
