Getting involved
Joining a club or student organization is a great way to get involved in campus life. The Department of Media and Communication is home to several active organizations that will help you meet Lumberjacks who share your interests. You’ll also get career advice, attend conferences and participate in a variety of social events and community service projects.

Mass communication organizations
Explore career paths and build connections with other students and professionals in your field. Students studying mass communication at SFA can become members of national organizations, including:
- American Advertising Federation
- The Crew (video club)
- National Broadcasting Society/Alpha Epsilon Rho
- Public Relations Student Society of America
- Society of Professional Journalists
Members will have opportunities to attend regional and national conventions, apply for unique scholarships and awards, and expand their network of contacts and mentors in the fields of broadcasting, communication and public relations.
