At SFA, we offer you the opportunity to explore the exciting world of mass communication from all perspectives. Whether you’re interested in becoming a television news reporter, a radio disc jockey, a newspaper reporter, a social media manager, a multimedia journalist or pursuing a career in advertising and public relations, we can guide you on the path to success.

If you need more than an undergraduate degree for career advancement, or if you want to further understand the role of media in today’s society, you can take your studies to the next level with our online graduate program.

The Department of Mass Communication awards two undergraduate degrees, three minors and one graduate degree:

Major Academic Planners (Degree MAPs)

Undergraduate degree major academic planners serve as a guide for taking the right courses in the right order as you make your way toward filing your official degree plan. A Degree MAP is a semester-by-semester sequence of courses that suggests courses you should complete each semester to be “on track” to graduation. To find the suggested Degree MAP for your area of study, explore the list below.
