Exemption applies to tuition for the first two semesters (fall and spring) following high school graduation.

Eligibility

Eligible students are those who graduate:

  • from an accredited Texas high school
  • and with the highest ranking in their high school.

Continuation requirements

If on the completion of any semester or term you fail to meet the GPA requirements described in SFA's policy regarding eligibility for financial aid or have reached the excessive hour rule limits, you may not receive the exemption for the next semester or term in which you enroll.

How to apply

Upload the certification from accredited Texas high school using the directions below. When prompted, select "Valedictorian Tuition Exemption."

  1. Using your mySFA credentials to log in, visit the document upload page.
  2. Select the appropriate option from the drop-down menu.
  3. Upload the documentation.
