The Office Environmental Health, Safety and Risk Management has primary responsibility for promulgating environmental health, safety and risk management policies and procedures, to ensure that the university complies with federal, state and local guidelines and best management practices related to environmental compliance and protection.
The Environmental Management System provides a framework for environmental management and the implementation of environmental policies and procedures at SFA. It is not intended to supersede any specific operational rules or procedures that have been adopted by the university to comply with health, safety and other environmental regulations or policies.
SFA is committed to the protection and enhancement of the environment, while continually seeking new ways to minimize the environmental impact of our past, present and future activities. As a result of this continuous effort, a system has been created to serve as a planned, documented, systematic and comprehensive program for managing environmental compliance at the university.
