NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Hospitality students in Stephen F. Austin State University’s James I. Perkins College of Education volunteered with the university’s Project RAICES, a grant-funded initiative to increase the number of ESL-certified teachers in East Texas and to provide resources to parents of English learners, during its two community events this semester Oct. 7 and Nov. 18.

Hicks’ ‘Common Threads,’ vol. 132, selected for New York Public Library exhibition
NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Works by Candace Hicks, associate professor of art in the School of Art at Stephen F. Austin State University, have recently been included in a new permanent collection in the New York Public Library.
Hicks’ “Common Threads,” vol. 132, an ongoing series of embroideries in the form of composition notebooks, is part of the Women’s Work collection within the new Polonsky Exhibition.
