Students who graduate with the University Scholar distinction will see this recognition noted on their SFA diploma and official final transcript. University scholars also receive a special diploma certificate and SFA diploma cover. For their commencement ceremony, the graduate's distinction is acknowledged in the printed program, and they wear School of Honors honor cords and a university scholar medallion as part of their regalia.
To graduate with the University Scholar distinction, you must:
- have full School of Honors membership status
- complete 24 credit hours through honors-specific course sections, including 12 credit hours in honors-specific upper-level course sections
- maintain a minimum 3.0 GPA in honors-specific course sections
- receive no more than two C grades in honors-specific course sections
- Grades below C will not count toward the University Scholar distinction.
- and achieve a minimum cumulative 3.25 GPA.
All honors courses are designated as such on your official transcript.
