A message from the director

Students with membership in the School of Honors are among the best and brightest at SFA. While many of our students graduate and enter the workforce, others have continued their studies in professional programs, like medical or law school or through attending graduate school at internationally recognized universities.

We strive to prepare our students for success while sharpening the attributes that make each student an individual.

Undergraduate research is an effective pedagogical tool and a means of establishing a unique intellectual identity. School of Honors members have presented their work at SFA's annual Undergraduate Research Conference and professional and academic conferences across the nation.

We believe deeper cultural understanding is one key to success in a globalized society and encourage our students to study abroad. To show our commitment to this belief, we offer School of Honors study abroad scholarships and trips. We also support individual study abroad, immersive experiences and learning foreign languages.

There are several advantages to a membership in the School of Honors, including access to course sections specific to School of Honors members and the opportunity to graduate with University Scholar distinction.

If you ever have any questions, my door is always open. Let us know if we can assist you in any way.
