Integrating technology into teaching and learning experiences can be intimidating, but the CTL team is here to help! We offer two primary types of technology consultations: technology selection and integration consultations and existing classroom technology use consultations.

Technology Selection and Integration Consultations

We offer individual consultations to faculty members, instructors and teaching assistants who wish to explore specific teaching and learning tools and/or implementing technologies into the classroom. Whether you’re exploring podcasting, video production, using iPads as writing tablets, or simply a new smartphone app, the CTL team can help you with the process of technology research and implementation.

Here are a few of the recent technologies we’ve helped faculty use:

  • Open Broadcast Software for video and Zoom integrations
  • Audacity for recording voiceovers
  • Smartphone apps like Flipgrid, Procreate, Pages and Witeboard
  • Hardware like Stream Deck and PreSonus AudioBox for recording videos
  • Microsoft Teams, Stream and OneDrive

Interested in other technologies? We can help! Alternatively, if you’re interested in trying your hand at evaluating a new technology, we recommend using Educause’s Rubric for eLearning Tool Evaluation.

Existing Classroom Technology Use Consultations

The CTL team is happy to provide training for individuals or departments on the use of existing classroom technologies. To schedule, email Theunis Oliphant at oliphantt@sfasu.edu.
