Available by appointment only, Correspondence testing is offered to students who are taking in-person or online academic courses at other colleges/universities and are required to have their exams (such as mid-terms and finals) proctored at a testing facility. Correspondence testing does not include exams that are to be taken for admissions requirements into a program or university or any state or university certification exams.

Fees

  • $40 per scheduled exam

What to bring on test day

  • A check or money order in the amount of $40, payable to SFA
  • Current, valid photo identification

Testing accommodations

If you require accommodations based on a professionally diagnosed and documented disability, submit documentation to support your request to your current institution.

All documentation must be submitted well in advance of your preferred testing date.  Contact the school or the professor that will be sending your test to SFA to receive details on the procedures you need to follow and/or for consideration of your request.

What to bring or leave at home

Regardless of the test for which you're registering, Testing Services enforces the following policies and restrictions. Lockers are provided for storage of restricted items.

Clothing

Bring
  • Dress comfortably in layers and be prepared to adapt to variations in room temperature.
    • Sweaters or light-weight outwear are good.
Do not bring
  • Hats, headgear and outwear with hoods
  • Jackets/coats are not permitted by many testing sponsors. Refer to your test's specific restrictions.

Identification

Bring
  • Current, valid photo identification
    • Confirm the identification requirements of the testing sponsor before registering for your test.

Electronic devices

Do not bring
  • Cell phones/smartphones
  • PDAs, tablet PCs, iPods, iPads, etc.
  • Cameras
  • Any other photographic, communication, computer and electronic devices

Food and drink

Do not bring
  • Food
  • Drinks (no, not even water)
  • Gum
  • Candy
  • Tobacco products

Testing/study materials

Do not bring
  • Mechanical pencils
  • Study materials (unless permitted by the test sponsor)
