Fees

Two separate feed are required to take the DSST exam:

  • $35 nonrefundable registration fee, payable to SFA
  • DSST exam fee
    • Must be paid by credit card at Testing Services within the testing platform on your test day.

Testing accommodations

If you require accommodations based on a professionally diagnosed and documented disability, submit documentation to support your request a minimum of 30 days in advance to SFA's Testing Services.

We will forward your documentation to Prometric for approval and help determine the necessary testing arrangements. There is no additional charge for these accommodations.

Score reports

You can view your exam results instantly when you finish the test. Read details on timeframe for institutions receiving your score report.

What to bring or leave at home

Regardless of the test for which you're registering, Testing Services enforces the following policies and restrictions. Lockers are provided for storage of restricted items.

Clothing

Bring
  • Dress comfortably in layers and be prepared to adapt to variations in room temperature.
    • Sweaters or light-weight outwear are good.
Do not bring
  • Hats, headgear and outwear with hoods
  • Jackets/coats are not permitted by many testing sponsors. Refer to your test's specific restrictions.

Identification

Bring
  • Current, valid photo identification
    • Confirm the identification requirements of the testing sponsor before registering for your test.

Electronic devices

Do not bring
  • Cell phones/smartphones
  • PDAs, tablet PCs, iPods, iPads, etc.
  • Cameras
  • Any other photographic, communication, computer and electronic devices

Food and drink

Do not bring
  • Food
  • Drinks (no, not even water)
  • Gum
  • Candy
  • Tobacco products

Testing/study materials

Do not bring
  • Mechanical pencils
  • Study materials (unless permitted by the test sponsor)
