BSN Undergraduate Preceptor Process
- If you have never completed our online process, complete steps 1, 2, and 4.
- If you have previously completed our online process, continue to step 3 (complete steps 2 and 4 for review).

MSN Graduate Preceptor Process (Family Nurse Practitioner)

The National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculties (NONPF) has developed standard example videos to assist preceptors in interacting with NP students. Many different settings are shown; however, all can be used for the FNP student in any setting.

MSN Graduate Preceptor Process (Educator)

Preceptor Incentive and Exemption Information
If you are a preceptor and yourself or your dependent is enrolled at a Texas university or college, you may qualify for a tuition exemption. Visit the College For All Texans to see if you qualify. If so, please follow the steps below:
- Complete the steps above to become a preceptor.
- Email the clinical coordinator at kimberly.moore@sfasu.edu with the subject line Signed Preceptor Agreement and request the signed preceptor agreement be sent to you.
- Once you have received the signed preceptor agreement from the clinical coordinator, visit the College For All Texans website and download and complete the Preceptor Exemption Application form.
- Submit both the signed preceptor agreement and the completed Preceptor Exemption Form, to the Texas university or college in which you or your child is enrolled. This process is completed each semester you are granted a tuition incentive/exemption.
- Each institution has guidelines for submitting these documents. It is your responsibility to adhere to your institution’s procedures and deadlines.
- If you or your child is attending SFA, it is imperative that you submit these documents by the twelfth-class day to receive the exemption. For instructions on submitting these documents to SFA, visit the Preceptors for Professional Nursing Education Programs page.
For submission to SFA:
- Login to mySFA.
- Select "Billing" from the navigation.
- Click the "Upload contracts, exemptions and tax documents" button.
- Select "Preceptor Nurses Exemption" from the drop-down menu.
- Upload the documents.
