Our program brings together students interested in law careers as they begin to prepare for law school. Network with your fellow pre-law students, law students, professors and lawyers. Join the Moot Court Team and argue cases against teams from other schools. Get real-life insight into law school and the application process.

A path to traditional and nontraditional law careers

What type of law career do you want to pursue? Our program is designed to help you evaluate your own academic aspirations, interests and abilities and build on your strengths as you prepare for law school.

Law school can lead to jobs in many different fields, including immigration law and the nonprofit sector. There are also emerging options in less traditional areas of the law like entrepreneurial law and e-discovery.

Summer Pre-Law Academy for high school students

SFA’s Pre-Law Academy is the only pre-law academy in Texas designed for rising high school juniors and seniors. Qualified students get real-life experiences like interacting with federal and state judges, crime scene investigation and learning to brief law cases.

Major in political science with emphasis in pre-law

The emphasis in pre-law provides interested undergraduates with a course of study that concentrates on the theory and fundamentals of political science and law. Students pursuing this option will complete coursework that includes constitutional law, public law, theoretical foundations and more.
