Shirley Watterston, seated, was recently honored by Ed and Gwen Cole with a hand-crafted bench they had designed and built for The Cole Art Center @ The Old Opera House in recognition of her years of involvement with the Nacogdoches arts community. Sam Wright of Wright Custom Cabinets designed and built the bench on which Watterston is seated.

SFA presents Dallas trumpeter in guest recital

World-renowned string quartet to perform at SFA


The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts will present the world-renowned Hugo Wolf Quartett in concert at 7:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 23, in W.M. Turner Auditorium. The concert is a part of the 2008-2009 University Series.

SFA playwright's musical set to start Broadway run in February


Jack Heifner, SFA visiting professor and playwright-in-residence, is the author of "Vanities, A New Musical," which is slated to open on Broadway in February or March.
