In the Department of Kinesiology and Public Health, the second-largest department at SFA, you’ll gain insights into movement, fitness and wellness through intellectually stimulating coursework and valuable, real-world clinical experiences.

Our goal is to give you the knowledge and skills necessary to establish a successful career in the field that interests you, whether it’s community health, physical education, coaching or many other rewarding possibilities.

We also can help you prepare for graduate studies in athletic training, physical therapy, occupational therapy, medicine and more.

A message from the department

Welcome to the Department of Kinesiology and Health Science. We offer a Bachelor of Science in kinesiology with a concentration in all-level physical education teaching or exercise science, and a Bachelor of Science in public health. The graduate degrees in the department consist of a Master of Science in athletic training and a Master of Science in kinesiology with a concentration in human performance studies.
