SFA Gardens offers educational programs for students that are designed to get them outside, encouraging curiosity about the natural world. Previsit packets include information to help educators and their students prepare for their visit to the SFA Gardens. 

All activities are aligned with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.

Livestock AGventure Days: K-3rd grade

Sessions are two hours long and classes rotate among four stations featuring live animals and educational activities that are aligned with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.

Cost is $5 per student, with no charge for accompanying teachers and chaperones.

EcoAdventures: A Homeschool Journey into Nature

This event is for homeschool K-12 students. The students are placed in groups with students in similar grades and the groups rotate among stations during the EcoAdventures event. 

Cost is $5 per student, with no charge for accompanying adults.

September 2025

Wild About Science: 4-5th grade

This annual fall event provides fourth and fifth graders outdoor nature-based learning adventures. Classes rotate among three activity stations during the event.

Cost is $5 per student, with no charge for accompanying teachers and chaperones.

Bugs, Bees, Butterflies and Blossoms: K-2nd grade

Intended for students in kindergarten through second grade, sessions are two hours long and classes rotate among four stations featuring nature-based outdoor activities that are aligned with Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills.

Cost is $5 per student, with no charge for accompanying teachers and chaperones (limit four adults per class).

Learning Excursions

These are intended for smaller groups of students for nature-based learning excursions that meet the students' educational needs. Educators, scout leaders and others who want to help children engage in environmental educational activities or in learning outdoor skills should complete the online learning excursions interest form to help us plan your visit.
