Lifeguard Training Full Certification Course

Learn the knowledge and skills to prevent, recognize and respond to aquatic emergencies in the American Red Cross Lifeguard course at SFA. You will also learn how to provide professional-level care until emergency medical services arrive for breathing and cardiac emergencies, injuries and sudden illnesses. Read the cancellation and refunds policy before visiting the Student Recreation Center administration office to register.

  • $134 for members
  • $184 for non-members

Pre-course deadlines:

  • Feb. 20: registration closes
  • Feb. 24: deadline to complete the online Introduction to Lifeguarding prerequisite course
  • 5:30 p.m. Feb. 25: pass the swim-tread-swim and brick retrieval tests during the pre-course skills session.
  • Feb. 26: obtain the digital American Red Cross Lifeguarding Manual

Participants meet:

  • 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, Feb. 27
  • 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 28
  • and 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday, March 1.
