Dr. Charlotte Allen
Dr. Charlotte Allen received her Bachelor of Science in advertising from the University of Texas at Austin, a Master of Business Administration from Baylor University and doctoral degree from the University of North Texas. Her research interests include information technology, online consumer behavior and retail issues, which mirror her work experience in the technology and computer field. She teaches various marketing and technology courses for undergraduate and graduate students and supervises the Rusche College of Business’ social media interns.
Dr. Antoine Busby
Dr. Antoine Busby earned his Bachelor of Science in Psychology, and his Master of Business Administration from Louisiana State University. He also earned a PhD in Management and Organizational Studies from the University of Texas at San Antonio. Prior to working in academia, Busby served as a police officer for thirteen years, six at the rank of patrol sergeant. Busby's research interests are organizational justice, emotions in the workplace, workplace incivility, individual differences, and law enforcement's organizational structures and operations.
Dr. Marcus Cox
Dr. Marcus Cox earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from SFA, a certificate of advanced management from Babson College and his doctoral degree from the University of North Texas. He has taught at the university level for 18 years and joined the SFA faculty in 2013 to teach human resource management and strategic management. Cox serves as the coordinator for the human resource management program at SFA. His research interests include corporate environmental performance and industry regulation, organizational misconduct, executive compensation in the nonprofit sector, and training effectiveness.
Dr. Robert Mitchell Crocker
Dr. Robert Mitchell Crocker received his undergraduate and MBA degrees from the University of South Alabama, and earned his Ph.D. from Auburn University. His research interests vary from managerial behaviors to employee performance outcomes. He looks for practical solutions to everyday problems.
Crocker, who enjoys travelling to tropical islands with his wife, is an avid scuba diver and PADI certified scuba instructor. His favorite dive destination is Roatan, Honduras. He has his own YouTube channel with many dive videos. He enjoys playing guitar, song writing, watching college football and college softball.
Dr. Robert Culpepper
Dr. Robert Culpepper received bachelor's and master’s degrees from Louisiana State University and a doctoral degree in Organizational Behavior, with a minor in International Business, from the University of Alabama. Dr. Culpepper has taught courses in Organizational Behavior, Leadership and International Management for more than 30 years. His research interests include organizational turnover, three-component commitment, work-related attitudes in general, and cross-cultural differences in survey-related response bias.
Jamie Derrick
Jamie Derrick earned her MBA from the University of Mississippi and BBA in human resource management from Lamar University. Derrick has over 15 years of experience working in human resources and actively maintains senior-level HR certifications. She teaches various undergraduate management and human resource management courses.Dr. Gina Harden
Dr. Gina Harden received her bachelor’s degree from SFA, her master’s degree at the University of Texas at Tyler and her doctoral degree at the University of North Texas. She has taught for more than 20 years and joined the SFA faculty in 2013 to teach management productivity systems and management information systems at the graduate and undergraduate levels. She serves as the faculty advisor for the Society for Advancement of Management. In this role, Harden has provided transformational-learning experiences for students by traveling with them to area businesses, bringing guest speakers from industry into the classroom and supervising students’ participation in national competitions. Her research interests include enterprise social software and knowledge management.
Cathy Henderson
Cathy Henderson received her bachelor’s degree from SFA and her master’s degree from Texas A&M University. She has taught undergraduate management and marketing courses at SFA for more than 30 years and is a business consultant and business speaker. Prior to joining SFA, she worked in the banking industry in systems planning and forecasting. Henderson focuses on active learning and transformational learning experiences for her students, both in and out of the classroom. She serves as the faculty advisor for Beta Gamma Sigma and works closely with the Society for Advancement of Management, which she previously served as faculty advisor of for several years.
Dr. Raymond Jones
Dr. Raymond J. Jones, III has a Ph.D. in Management from the University of North Texas, an MBA from St. Bonaventure University, and a BA in Political Science from Mercyhurst College. Before arriving at SFA in 2019, Jones was a professor at the University of Minnesota Duluth. His expertise is in entrepreneurship and strategic management. Jones has extensive experience in the private sector, including starting his own businesses, serving as a board member and consultant for entrepreneurial companies, and several years working in the finance sector.
Dr. Marlene Kahla
Dr. Marlene Kahla has been a staple of the SFA community for nearly 48 years. Before joining the university, Kahla worked for more than 20 years for her small, family owned ranch that sold Brahman cattle domestically and internationally to countries such as Honduras, Mexico, Panama and Bangladesh. She also served on the GoTexan marketing committee for the State of Texas for five years. Kahla received her bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Sam Houston State University and her doctoral degree from Texas A&M University. Her research focuses on case writing about marketing and small businesses. Many of her students participate in advertising and marketing competitions for clients such as Ocean Spray, the Houston Museum of Natural Science, and Academy Sports + Outdoors.
Dr. Wenjing Li
Dr. Wenjing Li earned her doctoral degree in marketing from the University of Kentucky. She has experience in teaching various marketing courses, including marketing principles, consumer behavior, marketing research and business-to-business marketing. Li’s research interests include consumer behavior, mainly in the areas of behavioral pricing and visual display. Her research has appeared in many different journals and conferences.
Dr. Matthew Lindsey
Dr. Matthew Lindsey received his Bachelor of Science from Texas A&M University, his Master of Business Administration from SFA and his doctoral degree from the University of North Texas. He joined the SFA faculty in 2009 after working in the foundry industry for more than a dozen years in a variety of management positions. Lindsey is a member of the Decision Sciences Institute and the Southwest Decision Sciences Institute. He has been involved with a number of study-abroad trips to Canada, the Czech Republic, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland and Italy. Lindsey teaches operations management and business analytics for the undergraduate and graduate programs.
Dr. Robert McDermand
Dr. Robert McDermand has an extensive background in sport business and higher education administration. He has spent nearly two decades working in student-athlete academic services at four universities throughout the U.S. and Canada. McDermand received his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in history from the University of Waterloo and a Master of Public Administration from Ohio State University. He completed a Master of Business Administration and a doctoral degree in educational leadership at SFA. McDermand was the Region IV director for the National Association of Academic Advisors for Athletes and a member of the N4A Board of Directors from 2016 to 2019. His research interests include intercollegiate athletics, sociology of sports, sports business and the use of data in sports.
Doug Milbauer
Doug Milbauer has an MBA and an MS in entrepreneurship, innovation and organizational behavior from the University of Texas at Dallas, and a BBA in marketing from the University of Texas at Austin. Prior to his arrival at SFA, Milbauer was an adjunct professor at UT Dallas and at the University of North Texas, where he taught professional sales, digital marketing, organizational behavior, and retail marketing. Milbauer is a serial entrepreneur with over 10 startups across various industry sectors and was an executive in several private-sector companies and public institutions.
Dr. Rajat Mishra
After years of experience in the industry where he worked nationally and internationally, primarily in manufacturing and consulting, Dr. Rajat Mishra joined the SFA faculty in 2014. Mishra earned his Bachelor of Science in mechanical engineering in Nepal and his Master of Science in industrial engineering and doctoral degree in operations management from the University of Texas at Arlington. At SFA, he teaches several courses in operations, project and supply chain management. He is an active scholar and has published several articles in reputable and peer-reviewed journals. His research interests include supply chain and operations management, corporate social responsibility, management theories and econometrics.
Dr. Brian Nagy
Dr. Brian Nagy earned his BS in operations management from Indiana University Bloomington and his MBA from Indiana University Northwest. Nagy’s PhD, with a major concentration in strategic management and an emphasis in entrepreneurship, is from the University of Alabama. Prior to entering academia, he worked for over a decade as a business owner, software implementation consultant, and manufacturing manager. Nagy teaches courses in the areas of strategic management, entrepreneurship, and organizational behavior. His current research interests pertain to understanding how legitimacy is attained in the new venture context.
Dr. Jason Reese
Dr. Jason Reese is the associate dean for faculty and administration, the director of the Master of Business Administration program, and an associate professor of marketing in the Rusche College of Business. Prior to joining the SFA faculty in 2014, Reese worked as a marketing specialist for Round Rock Express — a Triple-A affiliate of the Houston Astros at the time — and as a consultant for a variety of sporting event promoters. He earned his Bachelor of Science from the University of Mary Hardin-Baylor and his master’s and doctoral degrees in sport management from Texas A&M University. His research interests include pricing, marketing, consumer behavior and business cases.
Dr. Pamela Rogers
Dr. Pamela Rogers earned a PhD in operations and supply chain management and an MS in educational software development from the University of North Texas, and a BBA in marketing and economics from Midwestern State University. Her professional experience includes inventory control, quality control, corporate/military training, advertising, website design and project management. Rogers' research interests include manufacturing, supply chain management, flexibility/agility, quality and business education. She is a member of the Decision Sciences Institute, Southwest Decision Sciences Institute, Institute for Supply Chain Management and Association for Supply Chain Management. Dr. Rogers serves as Beta Gamma Sigma advisor and president of Alpha Iota Delta.
G.W. Scott
G.W. Scott received his Bachelor of Arts from Texas Tech University and a Master of Business Administration from Houston Baptist University. Before coming to SFA, he performed consulting, sales and data management work in the oil and gas industry in the U.S., Europe and Latin America. For the 10 years before his move to SFA in 2017, Scott conducted land and pipeline negotiations work in Louisiana, Texas and Mississippi.
Erika Tolar
Erika Tolar earned her Bachelor of Business Administration in marketing from SFA and her Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix. She passionately gives her time to her SFA alumni family by serving on the SFA Alumni Association board. Tolar also actively mentors students in the Rusche College of Business and SFA student-athletes.
Dr. Derek Walton
Dr. Derek Walton earned his doctoral degree in sport management from The Ohio State University. He has experience in teaching sports business courses pertaining to sports marketing and promotion, sports sales, sports facility and event management, the sports industry, and esports marketing. Walton’s research interests include emerging trends in sports marketing and sports innovation. His research has appeared in both national and international journals and conferences.
Dr. Yang Xu
Dr. Yang Xu obtained his doctoral degree in sport management from Florida State University, a master’s degree from the University of Minnesota and a bachelor’s degree from Beijing Sport University. His research interests reside broadly in the area of consumer psychology, including innovations in sports consumer experience design, fan loyalty and consumer well-being. He teaches a variety of marketing and sports business courses.
Kathryn Blevins
Kathryn Blevins earned her MBA and BBA in management from SFA. She is currently working toward a PhD in business administration at Oklahoma State University. Blevins has over 16 years of experience working in management, marketing and sales. She teaches undergraduate marketing and sales classes.
Dr. Amy Mehaffey
Dr. Amy Mehaffey earned her undergraduate degree in agricultural communications from Texas Tech University and her Master of Science from Texas A&M University. She earned her PhD in youth development from Texas A&M University and has a certificate in marketing and nonprofit management from The Bush School of Government and Public Service at Texas A&M University.
She has over 15 years of marketing experience in a variety of organizations ranging from 4-H Youth Development Headquarters and the City of Nacogdoches to her own marketing agency that serves small businesses across Texas. At SFA, Mehaffey teaches undergraduate marketing courses.
