Student services fees support a wide range of nonacademic services and activities that directly enhance the Lumberjack experience. Funded services may include student activities, organizations, cultural events, recreational programs, student publications and student government.

2026-27 key dates

  • Fall 2025: Campus-wide announcement of Student Services Fee funding timeline and procedures.
  • Jan. 22 to Feb. 13: Access the online portal to submit SSF funding requests for all departments and student organizations.
    • Ensure your supervisor or division head is aware of your request before submission.
    • All requests must:
      • be submitted via the online portal
      • have division head approval prior to submission
      • include all supporting documentation.
    • You'll receive a confirmation email upon submitting your request.
  • April 2026:
    • Advisory committee reviews proposals during open meetings.
    • Recommendations are submitted to university president.
  • May 1, 2026: Final advisory committee executive session, as needed.

Prior years' funding allocations

Committee purpose: In accordance to Texas Education Code 54, the committee reviews funding proposals and makes recommendations for the allocation of student services fee resources each academic year. The committee is comprised of nine voting members: five students and four university representatives. 

The funding process is administered by the dean of students, with oversight by the senior vice president for enrollment and student engagement, under authority delegated by the university president. Recommendations by the advisory committee are provided to the university president based on eligibility and available funding. The final report and funding decisions are posted publicly each spring.
