NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Numerous Stephen F. Austin State University administrators attended the University Series’ Ruthie Foster concert, the first event of the Micky Elliott College of Fine Arts’ Centennial Season and the first University Series performance since 2019-20 when the pandemic, followed by three years of Griffith Fine Arts Building construction, halted the series. Welcoming singer-songwriter Foster to the university campus are SFA Interim President Gina Oglesbee, right, and Dr. Gary Wurtz, dean of the Elliott College of Fine Arts. Upcoming University Series events include Grammy and Dove award winners and Grand Ole Opry members Dailey and Vincent Dec. 14; comedian Joe Zimmerman Feb. 22; and acclaimed trombonist, composer and producer Delfeayo Marsalis performing with SFA’s Swingin’ Axes jazz band April 19.
