NACOGDOCHES, Texas – Shea Clews, Stephen F. Austin State University art education sophomore from Cushing, is the 2023 American Advertising Federation District 10 John Aguillard Scholarship recipient. The AAF 10th District Scholarship is designed to recognize, promote and encourage academically talented students of creative disciplines, helping them complete their education.
"I never expected it, but I am incredibly honored to be recognized alongside so many other talented artists in this competition,” Clews said. “I would like to thank District 10 AAF for encouraging me to move forward artistically."
Clews dreams of teaching art at either elementary or high school level in the Houston area in her future. "I want to encourage kids and show them that art can be a part of their future and a meaningful part of their present, as well,” she said.
As the recipient, Clews will be awarded $2,500.
The Advertising Education Foundation of Houston awards scholarships to college sophomores, juniors and seniors pursuing undergraduate or post graduate degrees in advertising, communications, interactive marketing, journalism, radio/TV, commercial art, public relations or related fields. Students attending colleges and universities located in Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Arkansas, the four states that encompass American Advertising Federation District 10, are eligible to apply
