SFA Campus Recreation to host summer camps for kids

The Stephen F. Austin State University Campus Recreation Department will host weeklong "Little Jack Camp" sessions throughout June and July for children ages 5-12.

Little Jack Camp will offer a variety of activities including swimming, rock climbing, basketball, tennis, nature activities, visual arts, racquet sports, soccer, scavenger hunts, team games, water safety and movies.

The camp staff will work with children to help emphasize core values such as teamwork, communication and good sportsmanship. This camp does not focus on one sport, and all activities are set up for beginner and intermediate skill levels.

Camp sessions are structured similar to a normal day of school with campers moving through the facilities and participating in different programs throughout the day.

The camps run from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the following dates: June 6-10, June 13-17, June 20-24, June 27-30, July 11-15, July 18-22 and July 25-29.

Camp registration is in the Student Recreation Center main office, and all deposits and forms must be submitted at the time of registration. The cost is $145 per child for SFA students, faculty, staff and Student Recreation Center members and $175 per child for non-members. Campers are required to bring their own lunch every day. Campus Recreation will provide nutritious snacks once a day and water at every activity site.
