SFA presents Midgley in faculty recital


Herbert Midgley, SFA lecturer of music, will perform "Songs of Herbert Midgley" at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, in the Music Recital Hall of the Wright Music Building on the SFA campus.

NACOGDCOCHES, TEXAS - The Stephen F. Austin State University College of Fine Arts and School of Music will present a faculty recital, "Songs of Herbert Midgley," at 7:30 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 4, in the Music Recital Hall on the SFA campus.

Midgely, who teaches class guitar, history of jazz and history of rock and roll at SFA, will be performing songs from his soon-to-be-released compact disk, "Chicken Sandwich."

Song titles include "Life Is a Cartoon," "Tow Away Zone," "Pretty Girls Everywhere" and "Video Games Are Fun."

"These are all songs about my observations about the world and living in East Texas," Midgley said. "If you like rock, folk, country or classical music, this will be a great concert for you."

The Music Recital Hall is Room 160 of the Tom and Peggy Wright Music Building, located at 2210 Alumni Dr. on the SFA campus.
