New Student Orientation and Family Programs

Welcome to SFA!

We are so excited you have chosen to be a Lumberjack! All incoming transfer students are encouraged to participate in one of our AXEcepted Days sessions as your first step with connecting to SFA! Guests are welcome to attend.

Attending this AXEcepted Day allows you to:

  • learn more about your academic major and minor
  • meet your academic dean, academic advisor, faculty and administration
  • meet new and current students and learn from others' experiences
  • and become more prepared for your first day of classes at SFA.

Lumberjack Life, held the week before fall classes begin, is another opportunity for transfer students to connect with SFA.

Optional for transfer students, Lumberjack Life is an extended Orientation program that helps you explore campus resources and make peer connections.

Register for AXEcepted Day through the "Orientation" tab on your mySFA account. After registering, you will recieve a confirmation notice through your SFA email account. Additional details regarding Orientation will be emailed to you, so check your student email regularly.

Transfer student cost for AXEcepted Days: $50
Includes: AXEcepted Day registration, lunch during AXEcepted Day, publications, materials and administrative costs.

Guest cost: $50 
Includes: AXEcepted Day registration, lunch during AXEcepted Day, publications, materials and administrative costs.

Transfer student cost for Lumberjack Life: $90
Includes: Lumberjack Life programming, exclusive events, an axe handle and a Purple Haze T-shirt.

How do I take care of the holds on my account?

Log in to the registration page in mySFA. Any holds will include the hold type and the contact information for the office you must contact to clear the hold. 

You cannot register for classes if there are holds on your account.

When can I register for classes?

You can register for classes through mySFA once you have been advised and registration holds have been removed. Registering for classes prior to attending AXEcepted Day Orientation is highly encouraged.

How can I change my major?

To change your major prior to AXEcepted Day, complete the online form using your mySFA credentials.
