New Student Orientation and Family Programs

Transition to graduate life at SFA

At SFA we empower scholars, researchers and innovators to thrive in their academic and professional pursuits. Congratulations on embarking on this exciting journey toward your graduate education!

All incoming graduate students are encouraged to participate in one of our AXEcepted Days as your first step to connecting to SFA! Attending AXEcepted Day allows you to:

  • become familiar with campus resources and the graduate student experience
  • meet your academic dean, academic advisor, faculty and graduate school administration
  • and create your fall class schedule. (If you haven’t already)

Graduate Students are encouraged to attend one of the following dates listed below, as there will be representatives from the graduate school present:

  • January 14, 2025 (Virtual)
  • May 16, 2025 (Virtual)
  • August 21, 2025 (In-person)

Unable to attend?

If you're unable to attend either event, you can access orientation materials, resources and support services online or at the Office of Research and Graduate Studies, located in Dugas Liberal Arts North.
