Welcome to SFA! 

We are so excited you have chosen to be Lumberjack! To successfully complete orientation, all incoming first-year students are required to attend an AXEcepted Day and Lumberjack Life.

  • Step 1- Attend an AXEcepted Day. A new student orientation program during the summer that helps you explore our campus resources, connect with students and faculty members in your academic major, and prepare for your college experience. Guests are welcome to attend.
  • Step 2- Attend Lumberjack Life, an extended orientation the week before classes start in August. Students move in to their residence halls early, meet fellow incoming Lumberjacks and participate in campus traditions.
    • All first-year students must attend Lumberjack Life.

Please note that session availability is fluid, and, as individuals change sessions or cancel, spaces will open. Be sure to check the orientation page in mySFA for the most up-to-date session availability.

For students starting at SFA in the summer or fall 2025 semester:

AXEcepted Days 2025

  • May 16 - virtual
  • June 6 - in-person
  • June 13 - in-person
  • July 11 - virtual
  • July 18 - in-person
  • July 25 - in-person
  • Aug. 1 - in-person

Lumberjack Life 2025

  • Aug. 22 and 23 - in-person

Registration Details

Register for AXEcepted Day through the "Orientation" tab in your mySFA account. After registering, you will receive a confirmation notice through your SFA email account. Additional details regarding Orientation will be emailed to you, so check your student email regularly.

First-year student cost: $140
Includes: AXEcepted Day registration, lunch during AXEcepted Day, publications, materials, administrative costs, Lumberjack Life registration and a Purple Haze T-shirt.

Guest cost: $50
Includes: AXEcepted Day registration, lunch during AXEcepted Day, publications, materials and administrative costs.

Changing your AXEcepted Day

Requests to change your AXEcepted Day session must be received at least two weeks prior to your preferred session.

You will receive a confirmation email through mySFA once availability has been confirmed and your request has been granted.

To request a different session, complete the form on the Orientation page in mySFA.

Canceling your AXEcepted Day

The deadline to cancel your AXEcepted Day participation is June 1.  If your form is received by this date, you will receive a credit to your eBill minus the cancellation fee of $20 per student and $10 per guest. Additional information regarding the credit will be sent to your student email once the form is completed.

To cancel your registration, complete the form on the Orientation page in mySFA.

How do I take care of the holds on my account?

Log in to the registration page in mySFA. Any holds will include the hold type and the contact information for the office you must contact to clear the hold. 

You cannot register for classes if there are holds on your account.

When can I register for classes?

You can register for classes through mySFA once you have been advised and registration holds have been removed. Registering for classes prior to attending AXEcepted Day Orientation is highly encouraged.

When do new students move in?

How can I change my major?

To change your major prior to AXEcepted Day, complete the online form using your mySFA credentials.
