A leadership studies minor to complement any degree
SFA’s leadership studies minor prepares students to be effective leaders in their professions, communities and beyond. The leadership studies minor is a significant benefit to students in all areas of study and available to any student pursuing a Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science at SFA.
The leadership studies minor is an opportunity to incorporate a leadership component into your academic program as you prepare for meaningful involvement in the workplace and your community. A leadership studies minor can help you pursue a career in a variety of industries, including:

The need for leadership is greater than ever in an increasingly complex world of cultural, technological and global change. You’ll gain a theoretical and practical knowledge of leadership and develop skills to help motivate and inspire others to greater performance.
Minor in leadership studies
To add the leadership studies minor to your degree program, you must present your degree plan to the College of Liberal and Applied Arts for approval. The minor consists of 18 hours of required coursework, which includes an introduction to ethics, industrial and organizational psychology, principles of leadership, and nine hours of elective courses.
Three hours of internship credit may be substituted as an elective at the discretion of the director of the Division of Multidisciplinary Programs.
Electives may not be counted as credit toward both minor and major programs of study.
